Journey of IQAC
In our college, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established on 22nd June 2011. The first coordinator of IQAC was Prof. S. Sundharam, Head & Associate Professor of Physics department. In his stewardship, IQAC embarked its maiden voyage. His contribution to the college was many-sided. Apart from his academic activities, he was highly talented in practicing yoga and meditation. He used to give counseling to dejected and frustrated youngsters in and around Krishnagiri. In the early period, the awareness of IQAC was considerably less, therefore, activities related to IQAC have been seldom recorded or documented. However, he managed to elevate our college NAAC accredited grade from C++ to B++ in the II cycle of NAAC visit. Shortly after the NAAC accreditation of II cycle, he got retired. Then Dr. V. Ravi, the then Head and Associate Professor of Botany department became its coordinator for a very short span of time. Following that Dr. Ravikumar, the then Head & Associate Professor of Botany department became the coordinator of IQAC for fairly a long time (from Sep 2016 to June 2018). During his tenure, he equipped many departments with electronics devices such as laptops, printers, bureau etc. Dr. V. Ravi, Head & Associate Professor of Botany succeeded the latter for sometimes. Then M. Gladson Jose, Head & Associate Professor of English became the coordinator of IQAC. He took certain valid steps to restructure IQAC in accordance with the norms prescribed by revised NAAC manual and ensured its smooth functioning. A grand IQAC meeting was conducted on 22nd October 2018 in which new office bearers including the external members were introduced. Its steady growth was affected by the advent of Covid-19 that invariably laid its icy hands on all educational institutions all over the country. Therefore, the activities of IQAC had experienced a temporary lull. Indeed, as soon as the pandemic loses its string, IQAC will regain its momentum.
